Would you like to find out if your property needs a rewire?
Would you like to ascertain whether your property requires a rewire? If you have recently relocated or have not undergone an electrical inspection of your property, we would suggest opting for a full electrical inspection (EICR) to determine the existing condition of the wiring installation.
What’s included in the full electrical inspection?
Our comprehensive full electrical inspection includes a detailed evaluation of the entire electrical installation, starting with the examination of the main incoming and earthing in the property, followed by the testing of each circuit in the current consumer unit, to identify any existing wiring faults. Furthermore, we inspect the electrical accessories such as switches, sockets, and lights, to ensure that there are no damaged accessories and the wiring behind is in optimum condition.
What happens after the electrical inspection?
Upon completion of the EICR inspection, we provide you with an extensive report presenting the identified defects, along with the results of the tests conducted on each circuit, and recommendations, if any, to update the installation to current standards. If a full rewire id required we will guide you through both the quotation and rewire process.
If a rewire is needed can the locations be moved and more locations added?
During the quotation for the works, we walk around the property with you room by room to confirm the required number and location of sockets, switches, and lights, and assess if any new locations or changes are needed.
Will my consumer unit need changing or moving?
The assessment of your consumer unit's condition will form part of the comprehensive electrical inspection. Should our examination indicate that an upgrade/relocating is necessary, we will promptly inform you and provide a detailed quotation. This will include the installation of the most up-to-date version of the consumer unit that complies with the latest wiring regulations.
How long will a rewire take?
On average it normally takes around 2 weeks from start to finish, this will depend on a few factors for example an empty property with no furniture or carpets will take a lot less time than an occupied one which is fully furnished. Other factors include how many accessories are required around the property and if there are any additional external works such as detached garages or outbuildings.
At the end of our services, you shall receive the appropriate electrical certificate, and we shall notify the local council building control about the completed works, if required.
